All-Comers Track Meet Information:
The fourteenth season of the Bainbridge Summer All-Comers Track Meet begins on Monday, July 7 and contains a major change. Due to construction at the high school, the venue has been moved to Woodward Middle School.
The meets continue every Monday through August 25. Start time is 6:30 PM and there is no admission charge. Because there are no field lights this year, entrants are urged to arrive a little early so we can begin promptly at 6:30.
Race distances are 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600 meters, as well as 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relays. The shorter races are divided into heats according to age and sex. The youngest age group is three and under. There's also a joggers' mile, with the winner determined by closeness to his or her predicted time.
Results will be posted every Tuesday morning at www.jimwhiting.com.
Registration in advance is not necessary, tthough entrants are asked to fill out peel-off nametags (which we provide) with their first and last names and ages. This makes it easier to coordinate the starts of the heats and for the finish line personnel to record the top finishers.
There is plenty of parking, in the north lot at Woodward and in the two lots at Sakai.
For the third year, the meets are sponsored by Bainbridge Self Storage. Their generosity not only funds liability insurance through USA Track & Field but also maintains the tradition of free entry.
