Yo-Yo Ma is the best-known classical musician today. And his interests extend far beyond the classical canon, as exemplified by the Silk Road Project which explores the many artistic connections between East and West. In spite of his fame and prestige, Yo-Yo lives up to the spirit of his name, which means “friendly-friendly.”

Jim Whiting’s biography of Yo-Yo Ma is a MUST ITEM for children’s library departments everywhere! Although the book has been written for children, it would be valuable to adults who are fans of Yo-Yo Ma. Mr. Whiting includes an impressive bibliography and the index, in itself, makes for a fascinating read. A winner! (amazon.com)
